I have been in the travel industry for 30 years and have worked for American Airlines as a ticket agent at the San Francisco airport, for suppliers Eco Adventures and Australia- New Zealand Down under Travel, and with several large groups - AAA Travel in Palo Alto, Carlson Wagonlit agencies, and an American Express agency.

Over the years I completed many certification courses through ICTA and Wellesley College in Massachusetts including , CTIE - Certified Travel Industry Executive, CTC - Certified Travel Counselor, and DS - Destinations Specialist for Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand and So. Pacific, Pacific Rim.

While at AAA in Palo Alto I was one of the "Top Performers" in sales for several years, and reached the third top sales for North America and Canada with my supplier - Swain Tours-United Vacations So. Pacific.

For the past 6 years I have been a Premier Aussie Specialist, which requires special endorsements and achievements through Tourism Australia. I'm also a Kiwi Specialist (New Zealand) which requires extensive study and testing and is a hard earned designation with the New Zealand Tourist Board.

I have traveled extensively including South Africa and Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania, Italy, France, Ireland and England, Croatia, Hungary, Austria, Switzerland, Greece, Netherlands, Spain and Portugal, Slovakia, the five islands of Tahiti, and Fiji.

Within Australia I have extensive experience with and have traveled to Sydney and the Blue Mountains of New South Wales ;Queensland - Brisbane, Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef Islands including Hamilton Island, Hayman Island, and Wrotham Park Lodge in the outback ; South Australia - Adelaide and the Barossa Valley wine region, and Kangaroo Island ; Victoria - Melbourne and recently traveled to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs and the Mornington Peninsula near Melbourne, and my favorite Tasmania with the unspoiled wilderness ; Northern Territories - Ayers Rock and the wonderful Longitude 131 luxury tented lodge, Darwin and Kakadu/Arnhem Land and the luxurious Bamurru Plains Lodge, El Questro and the Kimberley/ Bungle Bungle area, and Broome in the Northwestern area of Australia ; Western Australia - Perth, Fremantle and Margaret River where the fabulous Cape Lodge is.

My most recent trip to New Zealand last spring included the luxury lodges of both South Island and North Island - including "The Spire" in Queenstown and "Blanket Bay" on lake Wakatipu near Glenorchy where the Milford Sound experience is incredible. I loved the Otahuna Lodge outside Christchurch, the Wharekauhau Luxury Lodge and Farm southeast of Wellington, Cape Kidnappers on Hawkes Bay, Napier and the Art Deco experience, the famous Huka Lodge, and Kauri Cliffs in the Northland.

Adventure travel is one of my specialties, as well as luxury travel, rail and cruises. The zip lining at Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe is most exciting, and hiking down into Mt. Tarawera, a dormant volcano in New Zealand was spectacular.

My favorite cruise lines are Regent Seven Seas, Crystal, Silversea, Celebrity, Star Clippers, Windstar, and the Lindblad Expeditions. I book barge charters and river cruises within Europe, and villa rentals in Italy and France.

Preferring the small luxury hotels and cruises, my work is mostly on extensive independent, customized itineraries that include cruises, tours, hotels, rail,and rental cars within Europe Australia, New Zealand, and complete customized packages for Africa.
